Amobi Ogah, a member of the House of Representatives who was elected under the banner of the Labour Party, has been reinstated as the representative of Isikwuato Umunneochi Federal Constituency in Abia State by the Court of Appeal in Lagos. The tribunal had earlier nullified Ogah’s election in September, claiming that there was a violation of the provisions of the Electoral Act. As a result, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Nkiruka Onyejeocha, was declared the winner of the election.
Nkiruka Onyejeocha, the incumbent Minister of State for Labour and Employment, was declared the winner of the election by the tribunal. Ogah expressed his gratitude to his supporters for their unwavering support during the legal battle and praised the court for its “forthrightness” and “commitment to justice.”
