Information and National Guidance Minister Mohammed Idris has called on state governors to support President Bola Tinubu’s eight-point agenda, saying the agenda aims to place Nigeria in a position of respect within the community of nations. .
The Minister spoke during a courtesy visit from the Governor of Niger StateUmar Bago, on Tuesday.
Idris said that the president had given marching orders to the new ministers to propagate and raise awareness among Nigerians on the agenda, noting that he was aware that Nigerians are experiencing difficulties due to recent policies and economic crisis.

The president, he said, has also promised that suffering will give way to a new life in the long run.
To cushion the effect of the hardships, the minister said that, among other things, the federal government has shared palliatives in the form of various cereals to complement the special financial intervention that has been distributed to the states.
Idris said that states have shown commitment and support in distributing palliative materials and that he hopes that support will continue.

He thanked the governor for the visit and for identifying with the president’s vision.
In his comment, Bago said he was at the ministry as the head of a high-level delegation from the state of Niger to congratulate the minister on his appointment and thank the president for appointing a consummate professional to be the face of Nigeria.

He charged the minister to justify the confidence that the Nigerlites have in him and join the State in spreading his vision and mission.
As the governor pointed out, the state, being the largest in terms of land area, has the potential to feed the world.
Bago assured Nigerians that the minister would perform beyond all expectations.
The delegation consisted of members of the Niger State Executive Council and members of the state’s National Assembly.
