Coach Jose Peseiro expressed confidence in Francis Uzoho as Nigeria’s goalkeeper for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final against Angola, citing doubts about Stanley Nwabali’s fitness due to an injury.

 

Nwabali, who missed one training session, underwent assessments, and his availability hinged on a late fitness test. Fans expressed anxiety over Uzoho’s performance, questioning Peseiro’s trust in him.

Nwabali, the primary goalkeeper in previous games,

had an impressive record. The quarter-final took place at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan at 6 pm Nigerian time.
