According to Sahara reporters, The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, expressed confidence that the 2027 elections would be easily won by his political camp due to the alliances they have forged. Wike conveyed this assurance during a thanksgiving service held by Senator Barinada Mpigi in Koroma, Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State on Sunday.
Wike, discussing his readiness for the 2027 elections, asserted that the alliances and support his political camp has garnered make it a straightforward endeavor. He emphasized the unity within his camp, highlighting the coexistence of leaders from both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State. Wike contended that such unity is unique to Rivers State and is a factor that distinguishes them from others.
The minister noted that despite opposition, the state has showcased exceptional unity, allowing the leading party to secure the presidency while the opposition party simultaneously takes the national assembly. He characterized this scenario as uncommon and a testament to the solidarity within Rivers State.
Furthermore, Wike advocated for support for President Bola Tinubu’s economic reform policies, acknowledging the challenges in turning the nation’s fortunes around swiftly. He urged patience and unity, expressing optimism that, with time, the decisions made by the president would lead the country to the desired destination. Wike concluded by emphasizing the need for collective efforts and support to achieve national objectives.
