The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, disclosed that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general election, Atiku Abubakar, is yet to reach out to him regarding the recent explosion that occurred in Ibadan. Makinde, who is a member of the PDP, made this known during a condolence visit by the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi.
He further revealed that, apart from a phone call from President Bola Tinubu and the visit from Peter Obi, no other major presidential candidate has shown any form of concern or sympathy towards the state. Governor Makinde thanked Peter Obi for the visit and expressed his disappointment towards the absence of support from Atiku Abubakar, his leader and PDP’s candidate. He made this statement publicly to draw the attention of political leaders to the need for empathy and support during trying times.
