In a highly anticipated comeback, renowned Nigerian actress Genevieve Nnaji is set to grace the screen again after a five-year hiatus.
The 44-year-old actress last appeared on screen in the 2018 hit film “Lionheart”, her directorial debut, which was also Nigeria’s first Netflix film and Nigeria’s first Oscar submission.
Since then, his fans have eagerly awaited his next project and their patience is finally rewarded.
After an extended absence from social media, the renowned movie star returned and treated her fans to a captivating new selfie photo posted to her Instagram story.
The image showed off her radiant beauty, looking healthy and content.
The Nollywood filmmaker returns as executive producer with a feature film titled “I Didn’t Come To You By Chance.”
This unexpected appearance came recently after months of silence on her Instagram page.
However, to the delight of her followers, she recently surprised everyone with a new post on her Instagram story.
Adaptation
The new film is a book adaptation of Adaobi Tricia Nwaubani’s award-winning debut novel of the same title.
It won the 2010 Commonwealth Writers Award for Best First Book (Africa) and the 2010 Betty Trask First Book Award. It was named by The Washington Post as one of the best books of the year.
Set in the dangerous world of email scams in Nigeria, the book explores the story of a young man with the responsibility of lifting his family out of poverty. The novel looks at how far he will go for his loved ones.
I Don’t Come To You By Chance focuses primarily on Kingsley Ibe, the novel’s protagonist who, after graduating from university, discovered that it is not an easy task to get paid work in Nigeria. He visits Cash Daddy, his uncle, to learn about email scams.

In the film adaptation, the Imo-State-born actress, who began acting in 1987, collaborates with co-executive producer Chinny Carter to bring this compelling story to life.
Cast, crew, story
Blossom Chukwujekwu and newcomer Paul Nnadiekwe both have major roles in the show, according to Prime Business Africa.

Told in English and Igbo, the project is directed by Ishaya Bako, with Femi Awojide serving as director of photography.
I Don’t Come To You By Chance will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) as part of this year’s Centerpiece (formerly Contemporary World Cinema) program.
The project is one of 47 titles from 45 countries screened at the festival.
