According to Daily Post, in a passionate homily delivered at his Adoration Ministry in Emene, Enugu State, Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka took a bold stance against President Bola Tinubu’s administration, addressing the pervasive insecurity and hardship plaguing Nigeria.
Mbaka, known for his outspoken nature, highlighted various obstacles on Tinubu’s journey to the presidency, including the controversial Naira redesign policy.
Despite the Nigerian president’s eventual success, Mbaka attributed it to an “act of providence.”
However, the charismatic priest did not shy away from expressing his disappointment in President Tinubu’s perceived lack of political will to tackle the nation’s challenges.
Mbaka particularly focused on corruption within the oil sector, pointing out its control by a certain cabal.
He lamented that the president had yet to take decisive action against these influential figures.
In his sermon, Mbaka questioned the handling of oil production and revenue, demanding transparency and accountability.
He said, “What is happening in the oil sector? How many barrels are being produced and how many dollars are in the Nigerian account?
“A country like Nigeria that exports millions of barrels of oil per month, how much are we saving? “Why is it difficult up till now to fix other refineries?
He also called for the dismantling of powerful cabals, stating, “Who are the cabals? Can’t they be de- canibalized? Cabals can be de- canibalized if the president has the will power; hell will not fall, heaven will not fall.
The fiery Catholic priest further query the Nigeria leader on why he is protecting the cabals despite the fact that they did not support him during the last presidential election.
He said, “These people can go to jail; after all, many of them did not support you; so why are you protecting them? Mr President, wake up, God is watching you to see what you can do.”
Mbaka directly addressed President Tinubu, urging him to confront the pressing issues facing the nation.
He emphasized the need for strong leadership, saying, “Mr. President, you can do it; to fix Nigeria is not difficult if the leader has the will power.”
The priest warned Tinubu that God is watching and encouraged him to take decisive action for the greater good.
Addressing President Bola Tinubu’s administration, Mbaka lamented the widespread sense of heartbreak among citizens, urging swift action to remedy the situation.
He drew attention to the deteriorating conditions in government schools and the plight of teachers and doctors, emphasizing the need for comprehensive solutions.
Mbaka highlighted the heartbreaking situation faced by retirees, particularly teachers, who lack gratuity and pension, urging the implementation of laws to address these issues.
He also shed light on the challenges faced by the police and military, emphasizing the inadequate equipment and lack of compensation for their families in case of duty-related deaths.
The priest questioned the effectiveness of the weaponry used by the police, expressing concern over attacks on watchposts and the subsequent lack of support for the families left behind.
Drawing attention to the sacrifices made by those fighting Boko Haram in Borno forest, Mbaka emphasized the broken hearts of their families.
Warning of a looming wave of hunger if insecurity remains unaddressed, Mbaka pointed out the challenges farmers face due to attacks by armed herdsmen.
He recounted a gruesome incident in Nkerefi where women were killed while farming, illustrating the chilling impact of insecurity on agricultural activities.
Mbaka concluded his message by urging meaningful engagement for all citizens and politicians alike, emphasizing that the level of insecurity could reach anyone’s doorstep.
Acknowledging Tinubu’s financial prowess, Mbaka emphasized that the president has the potential to make an extraordinary impact if he submits himself to God and demonstrates strong willpower.
He encouraged Tinubu to defy expectations and challenge criminal elements by implementing policies that enhance security and bring joy to Nigerians.
“Jagaban is not a poor man; so he can do something extraordinary; do it the other way round; shock all these people who are criminals; devise a policy that will bring security, bring joy to the Nigerian people and you will see there will begin to be a meaningful transformation,” he said.
Mbaka criticized the exorbitant interest rates imposed by banks, ranging from 25 to 27 percent, on loans, expressing concern for the financial burdens placed on citizens.
He called for a shift in approach, advocating for policies that encourage and empower the youth, ultimately leading to a transformation comparable to the economic success of China.
Highlighting the aspirations of the Nigerian youth, Mbaka stressed the need for encouragement, empowerment, and support to heal their broken hearts.
He envisioned a Nigeria capable of rivalling China’s prosperity and urged the president to adopt progressive policies for the betterment of the nation.
The renowned priest’s message comes amidst a backdrop of his past controversial prophecies, including the ‘From Goodluck to Badluck’ message aimed at former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Mbaka had previously endorsed General Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd) as the awaited messiah, leading to Buhari’s victory in the 2015 election.
However, the relationship soured over time, with Mbaka facing accusations of soliciting contracts from the Buhari presidency.
In addition, Mbaka did not spare criticism for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, during the 2023 election, Mr Peter Obi, labeling him as stingy.
