Bello, a former speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, advised Governor Adeleke to ensure the development of all sectors in the state, as he may not be re-elected for another term in 2026. He also expressed confidence that the APC will take over power in the state come 2026.
Speaking on the country’s economy, Bello expressed optimism that things will get better under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu. He called for a reduction in Nigeria’s demand for imports, stressing that the country’s trade imbalance against other continents is alarming. He further stated that if he were the president, he would ban not less than 85 percent of imports, as failure to do so could lead to a bleak future for the country.
