The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, Tony Aziegbemi, has insisted that the ward congresses in the State, were the best that the party ever organized in its history;
as he maintained that anyone who has concrete evidence that results were written before the exercise should come out with it.
The PDP Chairman had said,
“No, that is, that is, I will tell you what the procedure was, if you got into the ward collation centre, you will be accredited, the electoral officer that was sent from Abuja will ask — will read out the names of all the aspirants in that ward.
In some instances, some wards had about twelve aspirants, the least we had in the State was three aspirants in one ward, every other ward in the State, out of the 192 wards, it’s only in that ward that we had three aspirants.
So you can imagine having six, seven, eight, nine, ten aspirants in each ward, those names must be read out to the delegates — to the party people that have been accredited, and that’s what happened. Which results, who wrote results where? All the results were declared on the field.
Let everybody come up with concrete evidence that results were written, and that was what happened yesterday. I am telling you again Seun, yesterday’s congress was the best ever organized in the history of PDP in this country.”
