In 2014, Timothy Khamala, a then-young man from the Bukusu sub-tribe of Luhya, surprised a significant number of people across the world when he wedded Sarika Patel. A daughter of a wealthy Asian tycoon, who has several enterprises in the Western province, pleaded for a handsome man who works on his father’s farm for hand in marriage. He hung back her advances before accepting the proposal.
Within days, he accepted her as his wife and they lived together for one year. Some jealous people said he utilized allure to win her – an assertion that has not been substantiated to date. They lived in a beat-up shack that had a tiny bed and few household items. Khamala and Sarika were sacked from their jobs by Sarika’s father after failing to convince them to disband the union.
Sugar factories reached their assistance and provided them employment after their horror was brought out on social media. Life was not leisurely because Sarika’s parents periodically took their daughter by force, but she kept coming back. They attempted to convince him with money to leave their daughter but he rejected the offer.
In late 2015, they separated after Sarika indicted her husband for ignoring her when she was sick and mistreating her in many circumstances. It is said Khamala’s first wife and his brother phoned her parents to come and take her to the clinic. This was the final moment they saw each other.
Khamala’s first wife came back but the marriage failed to work for a second time and they separated again. He blamed his African woman as lazy and haughty but defended himself from indictments of neglecting the Indian lady. According to him, she felt sick after consuming bad meals from her parents which he guessed was laced with toxin.
Patel’s parents later publicized in newspapers that anybody wants to wed their daughter came forward after Indian men evaded her. Khamala is now divorced but never to accept her back.
