Arsenal host Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday at Emirates Stadium and both sides will be keen to get the better of the other.
They have both won four games and drawn once in their opening five Premier League games of 2023-24, and Chris Sutton believes the hosts will narrowly edge out Spurs given their form over the last 12 months.
Arsenal came close to winning the title last term but eventually finished second, while Tottenham finished in eighth place.
The Lilywhites have improved significantly under new manager Ange Postecoglou, but Sutton thinks Arsenal will be too much for his side, tipping the Gunners to win 3-2.
“There are going to be goals in this one, and lots of them,” the BBC pundit said in his Premier League predictions.
“This isn’t going to be a drab game because Spurs boss Postecoglou will go blow for blow, whatever Arsenal throw at them – he’s not going to go there and park the bus like Manchester United did earlier this season.
“I am expecting Spurs to cause Arsenal problems, but the same will apply to the Gunners when they go at the Spurs backline.
“This is the toughest game Postecoglou has faced since he took charge in the summer, and Liverpool are next up, so this is a very testing spell for him.
“It would be remarkable if he could continue the start he has made by going to the Emirates and getting a win on Arsenal’s home patch – he will have a real go, but it might prove to be a step too far.”
Arsenal secured a 1-0 win against Everton on Sunday before blowing PSV Eindhoven out of the water on Wednesday in the Champions League, winning 4-0 at home.
They will be feeling very confident ahead of the North London derby, but Spurs will also be feeling confident after coming from a goal down to win 2-1 against Sheffield United last weekend.
