BREAKING: The court has reserved its final decision on the appeal made by the Kano Governor, Yusuf, who is challenging the verdict of the tribunal that removed him from office.

The Abuja Court of Appeal has not yet given judgment on the appeal filed by Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf. The appeal was made against the nullification of his election by the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.

The tribunal ruled on September 20, that Yusuf’s victory was invalid due to irregularities found in 165,663 votes. These votes were deemed invalid because there were no signatures or stamps from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The tribunal declared Nasiru Gawuna, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, as the rightful winner of the governorship election.

Governor Yusuf has filed an appeal with the Court of Appeal, urging them to reverse the decision.
