The Commissioner for Special Projects in Rivers State, Chief Emeka Woke, has resigned from Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s cabinet. This follows the recent exit of Attorney General Zachaus Adango, who cited personal reasons for his departure. While Adango’s reasons have been made public, Woke’s resignation letter is private and has not been released to the public yet, according to Nigerian Tribune.
This move comes amidst a political rift between Governor Fubara and his predecessor, former FCT Minister Nyesom Wike. The rift has already led to 27 lawmakers leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joining the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Sources suggest that Woke’s resignation could be a sign of loyalty to Wike, whom he previously served.
