BREAKING NEWS: Over 200 officials of the (INEC) are reportedly stranded and battling for transportation to their designated polling units in Kogi State. Some photos have emerged showing the officials waiting in a long queue for transportation amidst the ongoing governorship election in the state.
Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials deployed for election duties at various polling units in Lokoja, capital of Kogi State, are currently stranded at Ajayi Crowther Memorial School.
It was gathered that the INEC officials had arrived at the school to receive electoral materials for the conduct of the November 11 governorship elections.
Among them are corp members and other ad-hoc staff contracted by INEC to conduct the election.
It was observed that after the INEC officials received the electoral materials, they were stranded as the commission provided no means of transportation to ease their movement to various polling units in the state.
An official was heard informing some officials that the only way they could get to their location was if the voters at the polling units arranged transportation for them.
At the time of writing this report, only three minibusses were on sight to transport over 200 hundred electoral officials.
