A fire broke out in the Gusau Central Market, located in the state capital of Zamfara, Nigeria, on Tuesday night at around 9 pm. The fire started in the furniture section of the market, the largest one in the state capital.
The Nigerian Fire Service responded promptly and firefighters worked tirelessly throughout the night to put out the fire. They were successful in preventing the fire from spreading to other shops, but unfortunately, a shop owner lost his life when he tried to enter his shop to put out the fire himself. The fire destroyed several shops, and one person has been confirmed dead.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
