No doubt Nigerians all across the country are still excited about the fact that the Super Eagles team, come on Sunday, will have a chance to lift the Africa Cup of Nations title when they face host, Ivory Coast in the finals.
Amid that, the support the team have received from Nigerians at large has been terrific both inside the stadium and as well online, but in all, some supporters, while watching the match between Nigeria vs South Africa, lost their lives. With the news breaking to the Super Eagles team, the team Captain, Ahmed Musa, in a video, was seen telling his teammates to lead them in prayers as well as observe a minute’s silence in honour of lives lost in the course of the semifinal match.
Ahmed Musa said, “Yesterday, we lost four good Nigerians because of the game, so please, we will have one minute’s silence and after that, Awaziem will lead us in prayers with their family as there’s nothing we can do, but they need our support now and come on Sunday, we will lift that trophy for them”.
