The Isoun family of Odi, Bayelsa State, has announced the passing of Prof Turner Timinipre Isoun, a respected academic and public figure.

Spokesman of the Isoun Family in Odi, Bayelsa State, Mr Diseye Timinipre Isoun, has announced the death of the family patriarch, Prof Turner Timinipre Isoun.
According to a statement issued by the family, Prof Isoun died on Wednesday at the age of 87.
Born on September 2, 1938, to Mark Ebidi and Dali Amgbapu Isoun, the late professor pursued a remarkable academic path, having earned a federal government scholarship to study at Michigan State University in the United States
Where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in 1963, a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1965, and a Doctorate in 1970.
The family said burial arrangements would be communicated in due course.
