The Executive President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been confirmed to be in attendance tomorrow at the final of the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
This was according to a post made late yesterday night by Tribune Newspaper via their verified Twitter handle, where they indicated that the former Lagos State Governor and now President who just returned from his private visit to Paris will be live in Abidjan to grace the big event.
The final match of the tournament will be played tomorrow at the Stade Olympique Alassane Quattara in Abidjan between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Elephant of Ivory Coast who are also the host nation.
Nigeria in the tournament so far have been in incredible run of form since the group stage series where they accrued a total of seven points from possible nine points, and as such booked a spot in the knockout stage where they defeated the likes of Cameroon, Angola and South Africa to reach the final round.
Ivory Coast on the other hand had a poor start in the group stage with just a win in the three games played that gave them three points from possible nine points, but were fortunate to progress to the knockout stages as the best looser.
However, the host nation were able to get their form back on track having done the unbelievable by defeating the likes of defending Champion Senegal, Mali and DR Congo to book a spot in the final round.
The game tomorrow is expected to be a keenly contested one between the two sides as it will be a repeat of the group stage match where Nigeria defeated the Ivorian with a one nil victory, as such the host nation will be hoping to take a revenge on the three times champion.
As part of motivation to boost the SuperEagles morale, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be in attendance to watch the most awaited and anticipated clash just like the Vice President, Kashim Shettima did in the semi-final game against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
