Arsenal want to secure a new deal for versatile defender Takehiro Tomiyasu following his stunning form in 2023-24, according to the Telegraph.
The 25-year-old Japan international has established himself as a key player for the Gunners this term, featuring across the backline and emerging as the Arsenal’s player of the month for October.
Tomiyasu is already attracting suitors, with Bayern Munich keen on recruiting his services ahead of the January transfer window.
However, the North London club are not interested in selling the Japanese and are preparing to negotiate an extension to tie him to the side long-term.
Tomiyasu is in his third season at the Emirates Stadium club, with 18 months left on his current deal.
There is also an option to extend his contract for a further year, and a new deal would see him bag better terms.
He currently earns £56,000 per week, and he deserves more following his brilliant performances this season.
