According to reports from the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), rockets were fired by the Qassam Brigades, triggering warning sirens in the area.
Despite the intensity of the attacks, there were no immediate reports of casualties.
The IDF stated that the Qassam Brigades claimed responsibility for the attack, adding to the worsened tensions in the region.
This recent expansion comes in the wake of a previous attack by the Qassam Brigades on Kerem Shalom just two days prior, where approximately ten rockets were launched.
Tragically, this earlier attack resulted in the deaths of four Israeli soldiers, with several others sustaining injuries.
Following this attack, Kerem Shalom, which serves as an important border crossing for the delivery of aid from Israel to the Gaza Strip, was urgently closed.
Even prior to this latest attack, an Israeli military officer had confirmed on Tuesday that the crossing remained shut.
