As reported by Daily Post, Sunday Oliseh, the former coach of Nigeria, has displayed optimism regarding the Super Eagles’ capability to clinch victory in the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) held in Ivory Coast.
Oliseh commended the prowess of Jose Peseiro’s team, specifically highlighting his endorsement of striker Victor Osimhen as a pivotal player who could lead the Super Eagles to success in the AFCON tournament.
Notably, Nigeria has secured qualification for the quarter-final stage and is scheduled to confront Angola on Friday.
Sunday Oliseh, former coach of Nigeria said, “Nigeria played great matches with the coach, Jose Peseiro, who received a lot of terrible criticism from the media, and I do not like to talk about it as a coach at the present time.
“But Nigeria was great in the last three matches, especially against Cameroon, and they performed well against the hosts, Côte d’Ivoire.
He Further stated that,
“There is commitment and spirit on the part of all the players, led by Victor Osimhen . I believe he is capable of leading the national team to win the title.”
He added,
“I hope we win the tournament. Nigeria has a very strong team, but there are distinguished competitors such as Senegal and Morocco.”
