Executive Director at Authority Newspaper, Chuks Akunna, has maintained that unlike former President Muhammadu Buhari, who spoke about fighting corruption but never did, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is actually fighting corruption; as he noted that the former Lagos Governor is only silent about it.
Chuks Akunna had said, “But from what we are seeing now, we see that — I mean, it’s very obvious that Buhari encouraged corruption, and interestingly, Tinubu that we are always accusing that he never spoke about fighting corruption, he’s the one who is actually fighting corruption; because anyhow you see it, anyhow it’s viewed, the EFCC as we know, you kno, has transformed.”
Chuks Akunna, who spoke during an interview on Kakaaki, an AIT Television programme, said the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has transformed under President Tinubu. He added that he listened to Vice President Kashim Shettima when he noted that the Tinubu administration has given the EFCC the directive to go after corrupt government officials.
