A three-storey building collapsed in Abuja on Monday night and emergency teams are searching through the rubble for anyone who may be trapped.
Police in the FCT got the distress call at 7:45 pm.
Senior officers quickly sent a response team to the scene along with rescue workers from NEMA, fire services, road safety officials and other emergency agencies.
The building on Abidjan Street in Wuse Zone 3 had been marked and sealed earlier by the development control department because it had cracks in it.
So far, no victims have been found, but search and rescue operations are still going on.
Police are investigating what caused the collapse and the exact extent of the damage.
They’re asking residents to stay calm, avoid the area and let emergency workers do their jobs without interference.
