TANKER EXPLOSION
At least 20 people sustained injuries of varying degrees after a tanker exploded at a petrol station in the Rigasa area of Kaduna. The Director of the Kaduna State Fire Service, Paul Aboi, disclosed this in an interview in Kaduna on Thursday. The victims included five federal firefighters, some members of the Kaduna Vigilance Service and passers-by. The injured firefighters are currently receiving treatment at the Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital in Kaduna. The incident occurred on Wednesday when the tanker was unloading petrol at the station. Mr Aboi blamed the explosion on the filling station’s negligence, stating that offloading petrol in the afternoon was not advisable.
