A group of Nigerian senators has donated their one-month salaries, amounting to N109 million, to support the victims of a drone attack in Tudun Biri, Kaduna state. The Deputy Senate President, Senator Jibrin Barau, and a delegation of senators visited Kaduna State to offer their condolences to the affected community.
Senator Barau expressed the Senate’s deep concern over the loss of over 100 lives in the unfortunate attack and conveyed the Senate President’s sympathies.
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State expressed gratitude for the swift support from both the executive and legislative branches in the aftermath of the incident. He emphasized that the attack should not be used to stoke religious or ethnic divisions in the state, and condemned any attempts to politicize the tragedy.
He also reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to enhancing security efforts and collaborating with security agencies to ensure the safety of residents.
