Professor Kingsley Moghalu, a renowned Political Economist and former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has advised President Bola Tinubu to consider reshuffling his cabinet before the administration marks its one-year milestone. Professor Moghalu, who was the presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in the 2019 general elections, emphasized that the cabinet overhaul is crucial to the successful achievement of the economic targets set by the administration.

While acknowledging the significance of removing subsidies as a major reform, Professor Moghalu believes that other aspects deserve attention for comprehensive economic governance. He highlighted several critical recommendations for the administration, including ensuring access to credit for the manufacturing sector and small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs), improving power supply for production activities, and taking measures to guarantee the security of the nation.

Professor Moghalu emphasized the importance of promoting transparency and accountability in the oil exploration segment of the petroleum sector to address and put an end to oil theft. He believes that these reforms will help the government to achieve its economic goals and support local and international investors.
