A Former Federal Lawmaker, Senator Elisha Abbo has spoken further about his petition to the President and National Judicial Council (NJC) concerning the Supreme Court nominee, Justice Chioma Nwosu Iheme who led the judgement that nullified his election in October 2023.
He alleged misconduct by the nominee and claimed to have included evidence, along with the records of proceedings from the Tribunal court to the Supreme Court to the NJC. He stated that his expectation is that the NJC would examine these materials in connection with the accusations. He reserved certain information, referred to as “trump cards,” to be presented during his appearance before the NJC.
He said in an interview with Arise TV, ”I sent a petition to the NJC and the NJC must call me. It’s a federal government job that they are doing. I made an allegation against a Supreme Court nominee and I sent a petition with evidence. And the record of proceeding from the Tribunal court to the Supreme Court is there with them.
They will study it and match it with my allegation against her. So they have to call me to come and say shed light on all of this. I kept some trump cards until when I appear before them. She knows what she did.
A Civil servant acted as a God between people from Adamawa who brought money to Abuja. The petition is on two grounds, ground one was that my election should be voided because there was non-compliance with the Electoral Act and corrupt practices. The ground two is not elected with valid vote cast.”
