Suspected thugs from opposition political parties have allegedly vandalized the campaign office of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi. Kingsley Fanwo, the spokesperson for the Kogi APC governorship campaign council, issued a statement on Friday in Lokoja, stating that the campaign office had been vandalized by hoodlums.
He commended the people of Kogi East for supporting the candidate who represents the unity of the state and urged APC supporters in Dekina LGA to refrain from launching a reprisal in the face of provocation and intimidation, emphasizing that APC is a party of peace.
According to him, Usman Ododo, the gubernatorial candidate of APC, has gained widespread acceptance throughout the state. He mentioned that the party’s legal department was in the process of compiling a detailed report after receiving a preliminary one.
Upon being contacted, Arome Okeme, the SDP State Secretary, has denied the allegations made against his party and deemed it an attempt by the APC to tarnish the reputation of the SDP.
He stated that the SDP and its supporters are committed to maintaining peace and have high hopes of winning the upcoming November 11 governorship election in the state.
