Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labor Party (LP), has concluded the party’s campaign for the gubernatorial election in Bayelsa State, which will take place on November 11. During a speech in Yenagoa, he expressed confidence that the LP’s candidate, Udengs Eradiri, would emerge victorious. Obi emphasized the party’s strong support base in the state and urged Bayelsa’s residents to vote for Eradiri.
He also praised the credible process that led to Eradiri’s selection as the LP’s candidate and stressed the importance of verification in Nigeria.
As you travel from Port Harcourt to Yenagoa, the poverty in Bayelsa is evident, 57 years after the discovery of oil. Unfortunately, Bayelsa is the second poorest state in Nigeria, after Sokoto. Last year, the state experienced one of the worst floods in Nigeria’s history.
The president of the Labor Party, Abure, expressed confidence that his party would form the next government in Bayelsa. He criticized both the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress for failing the people of the state and Nigerians in general.
Abure promised that if elected, the Labor Party would change the economic situation in Bayelsa. He emphasized that the LP is a party built on integrity and performance. According to him, the PDP and the APC have failed, resulting in insecurity, poverty, and poor infrastructure. He urged people to vote for the Labor Party’s gubernatorial candidate, Udengs Eradiri, on November 11.
After receiving the party flag, Eradiri spoke about his plans to improve the state if he became the elected governor. He emphasized his intention to engage with people, particularly those in rural areas, to discuss his ambition and gain their support.
Eradiri also made a promise to prioritize the development of Bayelsa and ensure a better future for its citizens, without involving politics in the process.
