During an interview with AIT, Oluchi Oparah, the suspended Labour Party National Treasurer, said the party chairman never had any of the properties before the 2023 election, and the money used is for the Labour Party. She made these claims while providing picture evidence of buildings, claiming that they were owned by the National Chairman of the party, Abure.
According to what Oluchi Oparah said in the interview, “These are Abure’s buildings; before 2023, he never had any of these buildings. These are the Labour Party’s funds; they can go and verify. I have written letters for the past seven months, and we have met on these issues.”
She continued,
“Even our national leader, who is well respected for his integrity, has been in our meeting four or five times, telling the national chairman of the Labour Party that there is a need for him to do the needful. What am I asking for? Can we get an external auditor to come and audit the account since there are discrepancies here and there, and he said no?”
