In a report by the Daily Trust, a bandit gang leader of kidnappers who kidnapped women accompanying a bride to her matrimonial home in Katsina State said he was the one who kidnapped the victims, and he will never release them until the N100 million ransom is paid.
The gang leader said, “I am the one who abducted them, and I will never release them until ransom is paid. And if there is anyone who thinks they could rescue them, they should try it.”
A viral video circulating on social media shows the gang leader, dressed in a police uniform, claiming that there are 63 captives. He threatened to force the marriage of the bride if the ransom was not paid. Additionally, some captives were shown wearing AK-47 rifles around their necks, while the bride was dressed in army attire, with a bandit remarking, “Here is the bride adorned in army uniform.”
The captives could be heard pleading for help, urging their families to pay the ransom. The driver of the vehicle carrying the wedding guests was also seen in the video, armed and pleading for the ransom to be paid.
