The opposition parties are alleged by the Federal Government to have instigated the protests that took place in Niger and Kano.
The Federal Government stated that the opposition parties are inciting protests nationwide in order to stir up disturbance, per a statement posted on the X handle of Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“This crafty and unpatriotic scheme found expression in the protests that took place earlier today in Minna and Kano. It is not by accident that the protests took place at the same time in both locations. It has the audible hallmark of a well-planned and coordinated attempt to sow discord and topple the administration. The national security and public tranquilly are directly threatened by this mercenary opposition strategy.
