Engr. Gideon Ikhine, an aspirant for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket in Edo State, has refuted claims of Comrade Adams Oshiomole favoring a particular candidate for the party’s February 17 shadow election.
Following the submission of his expression of interest and nomination forms in Abuja, Ikhine emphasized that Oshiomole has not anointed any of the 12 aspirants vying for the party’s ticket.
Rejecting rumors of Oshiomole’s influence, Ikhine cautioned against spreading such speculations and reaffirmed his amicable relationship with the former Governor.
He asserted his candidacy as the most suitable and capable within the party, stressing the importance of honoring Oshiomole as a fatherly figure in Edo State’s political landscape.
Addressing concerns about the state’s mounting debt, Ikhine pledged to harness its potential for economic revitalization.
He urged accurate representation of Oshiomole’s statements and emphasized the autonomy of individual choice in decision-making processes.
“Any child that abuses his father don’t you know he will not go too far in life? He is our father in the State. I can never have any frosty relationship with him,” he said.
“There is what we call a will. Even God will not tamper with your will. I am. not sure you are quoting him rightly.
He has never on any occasion come out to say I have an anointed candidate. Please don’t misrepresent my leader.”
