Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, who represents Anambra South, has declared that he will only serve one term if elected as governor of the state. Ubah recently joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) after leaving the Young Progressive Party (YPP). He has expressed his interest in challenging the incumbent governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), in the 2025 elections. Ubah has promised to complete the turn of the Anambra South Senatorial District with a single term in office, under the “existing zoning agreement” in the state.
Speaking to journalists in Nnewi, Ubah has pledged to drive economic growth and development within four years in office. He expressed his disappointment with Governor Soludo’s administration, which he called a disappointment. Ubah has promised to conduct local government elections within four months of assuming office as governor of the state, in order to ensure that development is spread evenly throughout all parts of the state.
According to Ubah, four years is sufficient for a focused governor to take the state to new heights and make the people happy. He stated that his innovative blueprints for the state’s development are unparalleled and that if he becomes governor, Anambra State will become a commercial and health destination in the South-East region of Nigeria. He also claimed that the Anambra flag would be raised in many capitals around the world to draw investment and development to the state, and to encourage the state’s diaspora to return home and invest in their homeland.
