Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 Nigerian election, has hinted at running for the presidency again in 2027. He made this statement while addressing a press conference on Monday, a few weeks after the Supreme Court affirmed President Bola Tinubu’s victory.

Obi referred to his “Obidient movement” as a “revolution postponed” and emphasized that the struggle for a “new Nigeria” has only just begun. He pledged to remain committed to the manifesto presented by the Labour Party during the 2023 presidential campaign and stated that the party will firmly be in opposition, holding the government accountable and championing the hopes of the Nigerian people.
