Despite their length, centipedes only have one set of legs per body segment. The number of legs might be anywhere from ten to 350. Another distinguishing feature is that there is never an even number of legs among them. The class Chilopoda comprises not just millipedes and centipedes, but also many other multilegged creatures. The centipede can be found living under rocks, in logs, and even in trash piles.
Most centipedes you encounter will be harmful if not deadly. They use pen-like projections called forcipules to inject their venom into their prey. Painful symptoms including heart palpitations, chest discomfort, severe headaches, nausea, and vomiting might accompany one of their bites. Put an ice cube on the area that was bitten for at least ten to fifteen minutes. This will help alleviate the itching by lowering the swelling. Then, brush your teeth thoroughly with toothpaste. This paste’s success in reducing pain can be attributed, in part, to the anti-inflammatory characteristics of the chemicals it contains.
