The Labour Party has called for the removal of a female minister who they claim is not fully committed to her responsibilities. The party has urged Tinubu to dismiss her.
The Labour Party (LP) has demanded that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu dismiss Hon. Nkiruka Onyejeocha, the Minister of State for Labour, due to her alleged failure to focus on her job. The party’s National Youth Leader, Prince Kennedy Ahanotu, made the request during a news conference in Abuja on Wednesday. Ahanotu also called on security agencies to investigate her alleged role in the ongoing crisis in the Abia state chapter of the party.
Ahanotu accused Onyejeocha of losing her focus and failing to concentrate on her assigned duties. He also alleged that she had formed an “unholy alliance” with some of the Labour Party’s expelled members, led by Chief Lamidi Apapa, to perpetuate the crisis within the party.
In response to the LP’s demand, Onyejeocha criticized the party and called on it to resolve its internal crisis. She dismissed the allegations against her as a paid campaign, which followed cautionary warnings from some members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) against her detractors within and outside of the party.
