A crash involving four vehicles has caused heavy traffic on the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway in Lagos State.
The number of people hurt is not yet known.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, shared the news in a statement online, on Tuesday.
The crash happened at Cele Express, on the inward side of Mile 2.
The vehicles involved were a Hilux van, a truck carrying a container, a patrol van and a Toyota car.
LASTMA said the crash may have been caused by a mechanical fault, possibly brake failure. It said the injured people were taken to hospital.
LASTMA officers have been placed at key points along the road to manage traffic and send drivers onto other routes.
The agency also urged motorists to drive carefully at all times.
The crash came just days after another deadly accident on the Alaro City Bridge in Epe.
In that incident, a truck hit a commercial bus, killing four people and leaving 13 others in critical condition.
LASTMA spokesperson Adebayo Taofiq said that the truck driver was also badly hurt, with both legs trapped in the wreckage, and later lost them.
The agency said preliminary findings show the truck ran into the full bus while both were crossing the single lane bridge, trapping several passengers.
The Lagos State Ambulance Service took the 13 injured passengers to a nearby medical facility for emergency care.
