Femi Falana, a senior advocate of Nigeria, has stated that since the removal of the fuel subsidy in June, the three tiers of government have consistently shared no less than 1 trillion naira each month.
In a video recently shared on YouTube by Sahara TV, Falana emphasized this point by referencing a specific event in December, where governors gathered in Lagos to celebrate with President Tinubu. He said in that same month of December, the three tiers of government shared 1.7 trillion naira.
Falana also challenged the narrative of financial scarcity, dismissing claims that Nigerians must endure sacrifices due to a lack of funds. Instead, he urged citizens to inquire about the benefits of fuel subsidy removal
In Falana’s words: “In December the Governors came to Lagos to celebrate with Tinubu, ₦1.7 trillion was shared that month. So if anybody tells you Nigerians must sacrifice because there is no money, tell them what they are saying is buffoon. What you should be demanding, is where are the gains of fuel subsidy removal”
