Roy Keane believes Arsenal staff and manager Mikel Arteta over-celebrate some of their goals, insisting they do go over the top at times.
Gary Neville was not pleased to see the players over-celebrating during Sunday’s 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur, insisting it made them lose focus.
However, Keane does not agree with his former Manchester United teammate, insisting the Arsenal players can celebrate as long as they like and very passionately as it is a derby.
He only has a problem with how the Gunners bench reacted against Spurs and how they have often done after some of their goals.
“Arteta does a lot of things I don’t like,” Keane said on The Overlap’s Stick to Football.
“But obviously he’s doing a good job there.
“But sometimes you do look at the staff and you go, “that is over the top, that is over the top”.
“I think the manager can (celebrate) but when there are 28 staff hugging each other, the bus driver and the chef are joining. You’re like, “hold on a second, it’s 2-1”.”
The Gunners are looking to pip Manchester City to the title after missing out last term, and they take every league game as a final.
The manager, staff and players put in a lot of work behind the scenes to achieve this goal, so it is only normal for them to be passionate whenever they find themselves ahead in a game.
