APC national chair Abdullahi Ganduje, on Tuesday in Ibadan, charged different factions within the party in Oyo to work together.
During a speech at the state secretariat in Ibadan, Mr Ganduje spoke to members of the party about the importance of reclaiming the state government from the opposition party. To achieve this, the party will launch an electronic register platform for its members nationwide and will also work on rehabilitating all party offices from the ward to the national level.
Mr Ganduje emphasized the need to revitalize party offices across the country, ensuring regular meetings and recruitment of new members. The party plans to introduce reward programs to motivate dedicated members, including presidential awards, party awards, and other reward initiatives.
Mr Ganduje also expressed appreciation for the hard work of members in Oyo during the last presidential election. In response, Isaac Omodewu, the APC chair in Oyo, emphasized the need for more compensation for party members regarding federal appointments, given the party’s success in the last general elections. Mr. Omodewu also revealed that the party is working to reconcile with former members who left in the wake of the last election.
Our goal is to make Oyo State APC stronger, better, and more virile and we will spare no effort in achieving it. Recently, we welcomed the gubernatorial candidates of Labour Party and Action Peoples Party from the last election, as well as their supporters, into the progressive family.
This is a clear indication that APC remains the party to beat in the state. We have successfully conducted the pre-primary process and followed it up with free, fair, and credible primaries across all the 351 wards and 33 local government areas in the state. Now, we are ready for the electioneering campaign and we count on your support as events unfold.
