In the Niger Delta region, Gabkwet, an air commodore, said the airstrikes were targeting the nefarious activities of oil thieves that had continued to affect the region’s overall environment, as well as the region’s oil production. nation.
It said NAF aircraft under Operation Delta Safe had carried out aerial interdiction missions on August 11 at an illegal refining site located southwest of Bille, a coastal town in the Degema local government riverside area.
Gabkwet said similar airstrikes also spread to a known IPOB camp at Orsumoghu in the Ihiala local government area of Anambra on the same day.
According to him, intelligence has revealed that outlawed IPOB elements in makeshift camps were sighted as preparation for an imminent attack on innocent citizens when the need to deal with them effectively arose.
He said that the airstrike was carried out afterwards and was considered successful.
The NAF spokesman said the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai carried out similar airstrikes the same day at a location about 1.5 km east of Arra, a once-deserted terrorist hideout near the forest. of Sambisa.
He said earlier reconnaissance at the site had revealed that terrorists were concentrating on the site which had so far been cleared of terrorist activities about six months ago.

“There were strong indications that these terrorists had fled from locations around Lake Chad after the areas came under heavy shelling by NAF aircraft.
“The location to the east of Arra was targeted accordingly to decimate the terrorists and deny them from establishing themselves in the location and using it as a starting point.
“Aftermath footage of the attack later revealed that it was successful as several terrorists were neutralized and structures destroyed, while the few surviving terrorists were seen fleeing in disorder.
“Ultimately, their ability to attack friendly forces and innocent civilians was degraded,” he said. (YAYA)
