Nigerian singer and rapper, Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, aka Mohbad, has reportedly passed away at 27.

Details of his death remain sketchy at the time of this report.

Meanwhile, his colleagues and fans have flooded their social media pages with tributes to the former Naira Marley’s signee.

Tribunal sacks two PDP Reps members in Plateau

Hon. Justice Mohammed Tukur led Panel 1 of the National and State Houses of Assembly Plateau Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Jos on Tuesday upturned the election of Hon. Beni Lar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as member Langtang North/South Fed constituency.

It declared Hon. Vincent of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the election.

The Nation reports Lar is a fifth-term member of the House of representatives.

The National Assembly Elections Petitions Tribunal also nullified the election of a two-term member of the House of Representatives in Plateau State, Dachung Musa Bagos.

Bagos, who represents Jos South/Jos East Federal constituency, was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).

Otu imposes curfew on four C’River communities to checkmate violence

Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew in four communities to forestall further loss of lives and property and to enable security agencies to deal decisively with the situation.

The affected communities, Ugaga, Igbekurekor Benekaba, and Ujama, have been rocked by bloodletting in recent times.

Last week, the lingering mistrust between the Tiv people of Benue State and the Yache community in Yala LGA resulted in the deaths of seven people and the burning of 15 houses, with several people injured.

Otu, upon assumption of office, had immediately slapped a curfew on Bakassi and Akpabuyo LGAs.

An NGO, Partners for Peace in Niger Delta, had earlier reported that 16 out of the 18 LGAs of the state are engulfed in communal clashes.

Shots Fired As NURTW Factions Clash In Abuja

Two factions of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) clashed in Abuja on Tuesday as a witness says gunshots were fired during the fracas.

But the witness who spoke anonymously said he was unable to identify whether the gunshots were those of police or of the clashing members of the union.

The clash is an escalation of the conflict between members loyal to the NURTW National President Tajudeen Baruwa and Badru Agbede’s supporters.

Baruwa has been seeking the intervention of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to resolve the situation and restore his members to the national headquarters which is currently taken over by the police.
