Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) Commanding General Ahmed Audi has approved Olusola Odumosu’s deployment as the new corps commander in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
NSCDC spokesman Babawale Afolabi said as much in a statement on Friday.
Mr Afolabi said the redeployment was aimed at repositioning NSCDC in the FCT command “for more effective service delivery”.
Odumosu takes over from Peter Maigari, who embarks on a strategic course at the Institute of National Security for the next year, the statement reveals.
Announcing Mr. Odumosu’s deployment to the corps headquarters in Abuja, the spokesperson quoted Mr. Audi as saying that “both the handover and relief between the outgoing and incoming commanders must be completed no later than Tuesday 15 August 2023”.
Mr Audi praised Mr Odumosu for his “absolute commitment and demonstration of professionalism in his duty”, adding that the latter demonstrated the “virtues of hard work, tenacity, dedication and loyalty”.
Until his deployment as FCT commander, Mr. Odumosu was the public relations director for the NSCDC.
Mr. Odumosu also conducted the first strategic communication workshop (STRACOMM 2022) for all zone commanders, state commanders, and public relations officers across all corps formations, paving the way for more strategic and innovative service delivery. and partnerships with local and international media. .
Odumosu commitment to transformation
In his response, Mr. Odumosu vowed to remain “committed to the ideals and vision of the “Commanding General” in transforming, repositioning and leading the Corps to an enviable height.”
“Odumosu reiterated that, with the support of the corps leadership, he stands ready to advance the FCT command by breaking new ground through an unwavering commitment to fulfilling the NSCDC mandate in the Federal Capital Territory,” added the release.

The new NSCDC FCT Commander is a Fellow of the National Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) as well as the International Institute of Public Relations, London, UK among others.
Meanwhile, the Commanding General approved the appointment of Mr. Afolabi, Chief Superintendent of the Corps (CSC) as the new Director of Public Relations (DPR) for the NSCDC.
The new spokesperson was said to have been tasked by Audi to work hard like his predecessor and cement his legacy.

NSCDC CG IMPLEMENTS ODUMOSU AS NEW FCT COMMANDER. In a bid to reform, modernise, restructure and reposition the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), FCT Command for more effective service delivery, Corps Commanding General (CG), Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni , OFR, has announced the redeployment of the service’s spokesman, Commander Olusola Odumosu, as the new helmsman of the FCT Command.
Announcing their deployment at the National Corps Headquarters in Abuja, the HQ directed that both the handover and relief between the incoming and outgoing Commanders should be concluded no later than Tuesday, August 15, 2023.
