With temperatures rising as spring has officially started, homeowners are finding more and more flies in their homes.

Flies only need the slightest amount of moisture to stay hydrated so can stay alive even just drinking the condensation on walls or windows.

If left untreated flies can spread bacteria such as Salmonella, typhoid and E.Coli.

Experts advise removing decaying foods such as meat, fruit and vegetables from your house that will attract the pests.

But deterring common house flies can be difficult especially when the weather is warm and windows and doors are left open.

Using chemical pesticides can be very effective but some worry about health concerns and damage to the environment.

But you can use this “natural and safe” method to rid your house of the unsanitary insects.

A mixture of vinegar and dish soap can help you trap flies, according to Healthline.

Method:

To use this method, mix about an inch of apple cider vinegar and a few drops of dish soap in a tall glass.

Cover the glass with plastic wrap. Secure the plastic wrap with a rubber band and poke small holes in the top.

Flies will be attracted to the vinegar in the glass and will fly through the holes.

However, the dish soap causes the flies to sink instead of being able to land on the vinegar.
