The deputy governorship candidate of the Labour Party for the 2023 elections, Princess Islamiyat Abiodun Oyefusi, has announced her resignation from the party. Oyefusi wrote a letter addressed to her ward chairman to inform him of her decision.
In the letter, she expressed her appreciation to Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour for his political window as her running mate. However, she stated that she could no longer align herself with the current values of the Labour Party. She thanked her team and supporters for their hard work during the 2023 electioneering period and expressed her gratitude to the ObiDatti family and NCF for their support.
Oyefusi further stated that she looked forward to working with her team and supporters in the future towards achieving their dreams of freeing Lagos from one-party politics and creating a Lagos that works for everyone, as well as a better and new Nigeria.
