Chelsea transfer news – The Blues can still look to add some names to their ranks after the transfer window closed, with Eden Hazard among those available
A busy few summer months have come to an end as the transfer deadline passed at 11pm on Friday night, with most of the business conducted by clubs now done.
That’s because the free agent market allows for the Blues to still land some other stars for their ranks, with a host of players still without teams. From the high profile to the resurgence projects, with a few club legends in the mix too, the Blues may be able to make some shrewd signings.
With that said, here’s a look at a few of the notable free agents that are available for Chelsea to add to their squad in the next few weeks.
Eden Hazard
There would be nothing more romantic than a return to Stamford Bridge for Eden Hazard this summer, who is without a club since leaving Real Madrid. The winger enjoyed some of his best years with Chelsea and could provide a mentor role for the new youngsters, while also offering some quality in a rotational aspect.
David de Gea
Chelsea’s goalkeeping ranks look complete, with Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic joining the club over the course of the transfer window. Should the Blues need another shotstopper, then Manchester United legend David de Gea may be the best option out there after he left the club.
Jesse Lingard
Jesse Lingard impressed a few years ago on loan at West Ham and even saw himself among the England international ranks. Since then, things have taken a downturn after he was kept at Manchester United for a year and then turned down the Hammers for a one-year deal at Nottingham Forest, who didn’t retain him for the 2023/24 campaign.
Sergio Ramos
Sergio Ramos is in the twilight of his career as his spell at PSG came to an end this season, leaving him as a free agent. The Spaniard is yet to be picked up by a club and the 37-year-old could be an option available.
