According to the report from the Sun, the National President of the Arewa Youth Consultative Council, Zaid Ayuba suggests that President Tinubu’s decision to relocate FAAN and CBN is part of a broader agenda to make the South-West region the most developed in Africa and the world. He argues that this goal should not come at the expense of other regions and that such moves could have negative consequences. He suggests that there is widespread anger in the North over the decision and that it could impact the upcoming 2027 elections.
He said,
“We are aware of the South-West development agenda which is a part of the agenda to make the South-West the most developed region in Africa and probably in the world. We can grow not by crippling other parts of Nigeria; we should not attempt anything that will cripple the existence of Nigeria.
All of us in the North are angry at the decision of the President, and if the President proceeds to move these critical sectors, I tell you 2027 is near, and nobody will take it lightly. Our traditional leaders, women, and youths are aware that this is a political move, not an administrative move.”
