A young Nigerian, Tonye Solomon, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, has set another Guinness World Record.
On Aug. 10, Solomon set the record for the most steps (150) climbed on a ladder while balancing a football over his head, according to the Guinness World Records.
“Tonye made this record to challenge himself and inspire others to do great things. He spent two months training for the attempt until he was sure he could achieve the record,” the world body said on his website.
Bayelsa State Lieutenant Governor Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo congratulated Solomon on the “feat.”
“Such a great feat is inspiring and worth celebrating. We are proud of you, champ! Mr Ewhrudjakpo said the TwitterThursday.

Guinness World Records at some point saying they had received some 1,500 applications from Nigerians in just two months.
Before Baci, there was 15-year-old Vincent Okezie, a high school student who had set four Guinness World Records in 2022.
The teenager told Newslodge that he felt rejected because Nigerians did not celebrate his achievements like they did when Baci set his world record.
“I feel like my country has rejected me. Plus I feel unrecognized. I wondered if women are normally recognized in Nigeria because although other boys have won Guinness World Records at my academy, no one celebrated or recognized them,” she said.
