Mrs Abiodun worked at a garri processing factory, where the perpetrator, a co-worker, also resided. Despite living in the same premises, Mrs Abiodun never mentioned any instances of harassment by the suspect, only noting his disrespectful behaviour towards her.
The suspect, in a confession made at the police station, admitted to attempting to rape Mrs Abiodun. However, when she resisted and attempted to flee, he fatally assaulted her with a stone. He later fabricated a story about her disappearance, leading to a community-wide search.
Alabi emphasizes his mother’s gentle nature and devout commitment to her work and faith. He laments the loss of his mother’s support for his music career, as she had been helping him financially to record an album.
Seeking justice for his mother’s untimely demise, Alabi urges the perpetrator to face the full consequences of his actions. Despite facing familial disputes over burial arrangements and financial constraints, he remains determined to honour his mother’s memory and pursue legal recourse.
